The Gyroidite scavenger hunt is all the rave right now. You collect the choco-mints from nearly everywhere. I first noticed them when I was farming for fruits. You can also receive these as a prize for completing the quests. Once you have a collection of the choco-mints you can craft unique items such as furniture and clothes.
Between all of this I managed to craft a mountain bike. See the cute picture below.
