After my epiphany at Blizzcon. I started streaming on Twitch. This was in hopes to get involved with the gaming industry, which led me to my job with my agency. I definitely met more people in the industry, but I seem to meet mostly influencers and marketers.
Without marketers and influencers its hard to get your game noticed. Everyone plays a crucial role in the gaming industry, from the influencers, coders, designers, marketers right down to the gamers.
I’ve had people mention my channel is bland, but that’s precisely it. It is boring. I don’t go into a stream in plans to entertain. For most entertainers out there, they put much research into the show. Its the same for a tv show or for twitch. There a lot going on behind the scenes. I do recall John Oliver saying he has a team of sixty to seventy people working six days to produce a one hour show. My intent when I stream is to have fun. That’s all. Nothing more nothing less.
If you plan to take streaming seriously. Its not ‘What can I gain from streaming?’, its more ‘How can I help? Make people laugh after a hard day at work. Enlighten the people with your ways, because maybe life isn’t so bad. At the end of the day, its not about you its about them.
